Why do we have Anxiety?
Humans have Anxiety to heighten our survival instincts, along with being able to recognize the difference between danger and safety. Its primary function was to detect potential threats.
However, in modern society it can become overactive.
Clinical Anxiety is excessive, persistent, and impairing. There are different types of Anxiety Disorders affecting many lives everyday.
According to the National Library of Medicine, from 1990 to 2021 global diagnosis of Anxiety Disorders for individuals aged 10-24 has gone up 52%.
Depressive Disorders
Depression is a Mood Disorder, and is described to be a low, sad, demotivated state in which stressors and daily living could feel overwhelming.
Addition to that, mania is tied into it. Mania is a state of lifted spirits, increased energy, euphoria, or increase irritability in which people may exaggerate their own competence and power (This may include psychotic features).
According to Gallup News, approximately 29.5% of U.S. adults have been diagnosed with Depression at some point of their lifetime.
Anxiety and Depression are the most common Mental Illnesses that we see in society today. Yet we are still not aware enough. In present day, there is an active increase in these disorders.
There are many different types of Mental Disorders and we need to spread awareness. As a community, we must focus on our well being.
